Lea Kachadorian is a dowser. She uses a pendulum or a forked stick to locate anything from missing persons, to under ground streams of water. Lea and her husband Jim, an electrical engineer, have been arguing about dowsing, around the kitchen tabel for decades. Their son, filmmaker George Kachadorian, sets out with his camera looking to settle his parent’s debate once and for all. Once he gets out there, his search for an answer leads him into a much deeper discussion then he ever expected: one about life, death and the pursuit of happiness. Picture This will be a one hour documentary about the lives of five individuals involved in the creation of The Picture This Photography Project, a photography workshop for individuals with Cerebral Palsy and other physical disabilities. The documentary, shot by both Courtney Bent and individuals from the program, will follow each phase of the project from the initial efforts to mount a single camera onto a wheelchair to the final evening gala at which the participants will display their photographs to the public. It will focus on the participants' joys and disappointments in taking their first photographs, their daily struggles experienced while living with a disability, and ultimately, the sense of accomplishment they achieve in overcoming new challenges. Visit the Picture This website, WWW.VIEWFINDERS.ORG, for more information on the documentary and the project.
